Wormies! Vermies?

Our friend, Rose, is the Children's Librarian at Pennsauken Library. She invited Kevin to offer a lesson on worms function in a healthy ecosystem.

Kevin was beside himself. For his 30th BDay, he received worms to start vermiculture composting at the Avant Garden. Some of these guys were featured. Thankfully, we also received a good rain the day before the workshop, so Kevin was able to dig up some other earth worm varieties in the Avant Garden.

Kids got to take a peak. Sonora Rose is helping in the background. She is also largely responsible for the Pennsauken Community Garden, located behind the Library, and featured in these photos.

Behold!

Kevin is a big fan of kids. He's also worked one-on-one with kids to establish vegetable gardens. Contact us if you'd like to book on-going education!

Special thank you to Lauren Lopez, the Rooted Logo designer, who attended with her kids and took these photos!

Kevin will serenade you

Want to experience some of your favorite landscaper's other talents?  Come to Yogawood this Friday night, 11/16, from 6-7 pm for Will's vinyasa yoga class.  While you move and sweat off the week, Kevin will serenade you.

This morning, Kevin gave me a sample while I did a self-lead yoga practice at home.  It was amazing.  Hearing acoustic guitar, a strong voice, and original content completely shifts the feel of a practice.

Get invigorated.  Get grounded.  Just get there!

A Yogic Approach to Gardening

Man, spring has made us busy bees.  There is lots to report but not so much time to report it.  Keep an eye out for updates here!

Meanwhile, I came across a photo from one of our workshops this winter.
This photo was taken during the set-up for our "Yogic Approach to Gardening" workshop offered twice at Yogawood studios.  Participants experienced guided meditation, received practical gardening advice, were able to ask questions, generate conversation, & build community with others who are working towards mindful land stewardship.

We archived hand-outs from the workshop & created a google group for participants to continue the dialogue.  Check out the resources, join the group, & let us know if you'd like to host the next workshop!
